Bono - Vince Brown
Vince was drawn in to the live music scene from and early age after seeing a friends band perform at a local pub. From then on he became a roadie, sound man and eventually, by complete accident, lead singer. Vince has sung in several bands since performing covers and original material. Vince has always loved U2 but it was seeing them live that took his admiration to another level.
The Edge - Matt Barr
Matthew bought his first electric guitar when he was eighteen in the same week as he left home, around the time that U2 released one of his favourite albums, “Pop”. By then he had the U2 sound deep in his ear, the band having been his favourite since the early 1990s. Long before the internet, Matthew would scour second-hand shops and record fairs for bootlegs and obscure imports, unable to get enough of the band’s incredible live sound and energy. With his modest, less-is-more approach, the Edge was one of the main reasons that Matthew took up the guitar and almost the first thing he set about learning was the main riff from “Sunday Bloody Sunday”.
Matthew played in a number of university bands before joining U2 Tribe.
Larry Mullen Jnr - Darren Hilborn
Darren started drumming in the early 1980's & played in a number of school bands and in school productions. In the late 1980's he joined Brighton band 'After All' and spent most of 1988 travelling around the South East and London, playing gigs at many venues including the 'Mean Fiddler' & the 'Rock Garden' in London. The band also recorded a single which was number 1 in the Brighton charts and (apparently) number 108 in the national charts. After the band split, Darren played with folk band 'Touchstone' & drummed on their first album 'The night snow came down' before leaving the band. Darren has spent the last 10 years playing with a local covers band. He has also recorded and performed several musicals for musical theatre groups including a couple of showcases in the West End and has featured on several CD's by local musicians.
Adam Clayton - Rob Coleman
Rob became a fan of U2 after attending the same school as the band, Mount Temple Comprehensive, where they were loved by staff and students alike. He took up the bass at the age of 16, after several years of classical guitar tuition. In 1990, at the age of 20, Rob moved to Jersey, and there joined his 1st professional band, a 5 piece soul outfit called Souled Out. From there he joined The Life Of Reilly, a 7 piece Waterboys tribute, before returning to Ireland at age 26. There he played with Ben Prevo, Wheatbread Johnson, Widgeon Holland, The Mary Stokes Band, Sinead O’Connor and Van Morrison. He then took time out to travel, before settling in the UK.
